Numerous challenges face human resource administrators in higher education, ranging from recession-related woes to new social media technology to changing definitions of diversity. Strategies to deal with these challenges were hammered out by members of the New England Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) — which assists member institutions in recruiting and retaining faculty and staff — during its general assembly on Wednesday (Oct. 27), hosted by Harvard University.
