London School of Economics awards Peter Godfrey-Smith

The London School of Economics and Political Science has awarded Professor of Philosophy Peter Godfrey-Smith the Lakatos Award for outstanding contribution to the philosophy of science. Godfrey-Smith was honored for his book “Darwinian Populations and Natural Selection.” In his book, Godfrey-Smith draws on new developments in biology, philosophy of science, and other fields to give a new analysis and extension of Darwin’s idea. Godfrey-Smith will visit the school to receive the award and give a public lecture during the summer.
