Harvard Foundation honors Kleinman
The Harvard Foundation honored Arthur Kleinman, Esther and Sidney Rabb Professor of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and professor of medical anthropology and psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, on May 3 with its 2011 Distinguished Faculty Award at the annual Harvard Foundation Student/Faculty Awards Dinner in Quincy House. Kleinman was recognized for his years of superb scholarly contributions in the areas of social anthropology, medical anthropology, and psychiatry; his development of scores of students and graduates in these academic fields; and contributions to advancing the intercultural life of the University. “Arthur Kleinman is a pre-eminent scholar and a beacon for many in the Harvard community who seek greater intercultural and interethnic understanding,” said S.
