Severe weather update
The University is closely monitoring the severe weather expected to move through the Cambridge/Boston area beginning late Sunday night and lasting through early Tuesday. The National Weather Service is predicting the storm will make landfall near New Jersey as a category 1 hurricane. New England is expected to receive winds of up to 50 mph and more than two inches of rain is possible. Currently, the University administration expects that Monday will be a normal workday and employees are encouraged to plan their commutes accordingly. All employees should, however, continue to monitor the weather situation and check the Harvard homepage for updates. Conditions are expected to be severe during the morning and afternoon commutes. We would urge that if an employee is concerned about traveling to work during this weather event, he/she should contact their supervisor to arrange for a personal or vacation day.
