Earth Month at Harvard
Once a year on Earth Day, April 22, the world celebrates the birth of the modern environmental movement. Harvard takes that commemoration to the next level, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and a healthier planet with a monthlong series of events and activities designed to engage and inspire faculty, students, and staff across the University. To encourage community-wide participation and action, the Harvard Office for Sustainability (OFS) has launched the Harvard Earth Month Web page, aggregating events from across the 12 Schools and central administration that have been organized by students, faculty, and staff. From a “Fashion Swapaganza” organized by a Harvard Law School student club to encourage reuse of unwanted clothing to the “Re(Designing) Harvard Recycling” art project, during which students will re-imagine designs for recycling bins across campus, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in sustainability.
