Walton, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and the church’s Pusey Minister. Umbrellas and plastic ponchos were as ubiquitous among the graduating seniors in the pews as cellphones were. The seniors sang along with the hymns and replied to the responsive reading, letting out an occasional chuckle at some of the reading’s more fiery rhetoric. At the at the Memorial Church, the Rev. Jonathan L. Walton, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and the church’s Pusey Minister, continued the tradition of a morning service on Commencement Day.
