Cigarette use in California is in steep decline

Department of Public Health data show that smoking rates for adults have declined 41% since a 25-cent-a-pack tax on cigarettes was enacted. Anti-smoking advocates are celebrating this week's 20th anniversary of California's groundbreaking tobacco-control effort by releasing new data showing that cigarette use is continuing its steep decline in the Golden State.
