American Lori Berenson to be released from prison in Peru

A Peruvian military court convicted Berenson, 40, of terrorism in 1996 and she spent 14 years behind bars. A judge granted her parole request Tuesday. Lori Berenson, an American convicted by a Peruvian court on terrorism charges 14 years ago, will be released on parole as early as Thursday, the national prisons institute said Wednesday.
