Research shows promise in reversing Type 1 diabetes

Experiments in a small number of people show that an inexpensive vaccine normally used against tuberculosis may stop the immune system from attacking pancreas cells.Preliminary experiments in a handful of people suggest that it might be possible to reverse Type 1 diabetes using an inexpensive vaccine to stop the immune system from attacking cells in the pancreas.
