Kilauea's deadliest blast from the past

"There have been more powerful eruptions here, but none more deadly," said a geologist with the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, talking about Kilauea. A legendary eruption happened in November 1790, but until now the surge of lava associated with it had yet to be identified.
