Complexity Unfolds in Self-assembling Quasicrystals

The University of Chicago's Dmitri Talapin and his colleagues have created quasicrystals out of self-assembling nanoparticles for the first time. Self-assembly techniques harness nature's own tendencies to develop novel materials.
