A University of Minnesota undergrad turned more than a century of temperature change data into music. This is one of the few instances when something really is better when expressed through song. Daniel Crawford, an undergrad at the University of Minnesota, turned more than 100 years of climate change data from NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies into a musical composition to play on his cello. Each note corresponds to a year, and the higher the temperature rises, the higher his notes go. The result is beautiful, even if the data it corresponds to is not. For those already dwelling on the sweltering heat today--well, at least's think about how pretty it could sound. [Slate]
