About Observation affecting the observed..

OK. So the experiment that I usually hear cited about this concept of the Observation changing the actions of particles observed, also tend to explain that the light photons needed to observe the object are what change its course. If this is so, itsn't a leap in logic to say that You can't observe an object without affecting it?
