VTT's Research Scientist Suvi Haekkinen (MSc, Tech) has studied in her thesis alkaloid biosynthesis and metabolism in two Solanaceae plants, tobacco and Egyptian henbane. The studies bring new information about the functions of genes involved with the biosynthesis of plant secondary metabolites.
