Pregnant women could benefit from screening for thyroid disease, research shows

Almost 1 in 20 women who gives birth will go on to develop thyroid problems within two years, according to a new study. This could have significant implications for the future health of the mother and child, as well as potentially presenting problems for future pregnancies.
