Even we scientists and philosophers have the need to believe in something greater than ourselves--that we are serving a purpose for the good of each and all. Now science and philosophy are wonderful disciplines for understanding the universe and ourselves better. But as human beings we need, besides knowledge, besides even wisdom more than anything, we need something to believe in.
