Spacelab: Space Shuttle Flew Europe's First Space Module 30 Years Ago

It does not seem out of place today, but the sight 30 years ago of a pressurized module mounted in the space shuttle's payload bay was described in 1983 as an 'odd-appearing assemblage.' That sight was Spacelab, a $1 billion space laboratory.
