Asteroid Impact Early-Warning System's 1st Telescope Up and Running

The first Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) telescope is now in operation on Haleakala – on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. ATLAS is an asteroid impact early warning system being developed by the University of Hawaii and funded by NASA.
