Astronauts, Aviators Celebrate National Air and Space Museum's 40 Years

Forty years ago a signal sent from Mars led to the opening of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. Last week, another broadcast from space prompted the debut of the museum's newly-renovated exhibit hall.
