Mars-Like Environment Lies Deep Beneath Earth's Surface

While NASA discusses how to one day send humans to Mars, a group of scientists have has delved more than a half-mile (1.1 kilometers) beneath the Earth's surface to study nearby environments that resemble those of the Red Planet.
