Iraq signs deals to open up gas fields

BAGHDAD, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Iraq's Oil Ministry awarded contracts to develop three of its biggest gas fields Wednesday, although concerns about security -- a factor that could undermine Baghdad's drive to become the world's new energy giant -- apparently scared off some potential investors.
