Lawful boost to mental health coverage

Under the just-passed legislation, plans can no longer make enrollees pay more for mental health and substance abuse coverage than for physical issues. Advocates battling for more than a decade for improved mental healthcare coverage saw their labor rewarded this month when federal legislation was passed requiring group health plans to provide equal coverage for mental and physical illnesses.
