Rosy complexion denotes health and hormones

Flush faces are seen as more healthful looking, say Scottish scientists who asked study participants to make computer images of young faces look healthy. They all added oxygen-rich blood color. In the animal kingdom, some primates produce reddened faces in order to show off and attract mates. Humans apparently do the same, to some extent.
