Strange Condition Lets Woman Hear Sounds But Not Words

A woman lost the ability to hear words during antiretroviral therapy, though she could hear other sounds. Doctors found that the impairment was caused by lesions in the brain. Once the lesions healed, the woman was able to hear words again.
