Hot Laptops: Engineers Aim To Solve 'Burning' Computer Problem

"Laptops are very hot now, so hot that they are not 'lap' tops anymore," says Avik Ghosh, an assistant professor of computer and electrical engineering at the University of Virginia. "If we continue at our current pace of miniaturization, these devices will be as hot as the sun in 10 to 20 years." Ghosh is seeking ways to reduce the heat of smaller and faster computers.
