Obesity hormone adiponectin increases the risk of osteoporosis in the elderly, study finds

While obesity is a well-known cause of cardiovascular disease, research from Sweden has now revealed that one of the body's obesity-related hormones -- adiponectin -- is also linked to osteoporosis and an increased risk of fractures.
