Huge Collision Likely Caused Pluto Moons’ Weird Orbits

The impact that formed Pluto’s largest moon, Charon, likely led to the formation and destruction of numerous smaller satellites shortly thereafter, eventually culminating in the strange configuration seen today, researchers said.
