Primordial Galaxy Has Farthest Oxygen Ever Detected in the Universe

Astronomers have discovered signs of oxygen in galaxy born shortly after the cosmic dark ages of the early universe that existed before the first stars, a new study finds. The galaxy SXDF-NB1006-2 is 13.1 billion light-years from Earth.
