130 million-year-old bird fossil yields keratin, melanosomes

Brooks HaysRALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Keratin and melanosomes can remain preserved and later identified in fossilized tissue. The revelation comes thanks to the discovery of an ancient bird fossil.
