New Yorker paroled after 15 years in Peru prisons

Lori Berenson was convicted of aiding leftist rebels but denied wrongdoing. Court papers now say she "recognized she committed errors." She must remain in Peru till November 2015. A judge granted parole Tuesday to Lori Berenson, the 40-year-old New York activist who has spent 15 years in Peruvian prisons on a conviction of aiding leftist rebels.
