'Extinct' tortoises may still be roaming a Galapagos island

Descendants of a giant tortoise species that supposedly died out by 1850 have been found on Isabela Island. Researchers believe some of the purebred parents could be there as well.A giant tortoise species studied by Charles Darwin and believed to be extinct for more than 150 years may be alive and well, an ambitious genetic survey has revealed.
