Smoking prevalence remains high worldwide

Although smoking rates in the last three decades have declined drastically in the U.S. and more moderately worldwide, there are still more smokers today than ever, researchers find. Despite a steep drop in the number of smokers in the United States over the last three decades, researchers say that cigarettes remain a growth industry for the rest of the world because of expanding population.
