Simple steps can cut deadly risk of heart disease, study finds

Seven factors outlined by the American Heart Assn. — including diet and exercise — are found to sharply reduce the short-term risk of death. But out of 17,820 people, only two met all seven.For those concerned about death from cardiovascular disease, heart experts have some good news: Regular exercise, a healthy diet and five other simple measures can cut one's near-term risk of death by more than half.
