Planet-Hunting Days of NASA's Kepler Spacecraft Likely Over

NASA announced Thursday (Aug. 15) that it will stand down on attempts to recover the exoplanet-hunting Kepler spacecraft, which has exceeded its mission life. NASA is now looking for new ways to use the spacecraft for other science purposes.
