The lowly sponge credited with keeping world's coral reefs alive

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The mystery of how coral reefs, among Earth's most vibrant ecosystems, flourish in waters lacking nutrients is down to lowly sponges, European scientists say.
