High resting pulse rate helps predict heart attacks in women

A woman's heart rate at rest may help predict her risk of a heart attack, a study of postmenopausal women suggests. Women with the highest resting heart rates were 26 per cent more likely to suffer a heart attack than those with the lowest rates during nearly eight years of follow-up, researchers found.
