Santa Monica High wins U.S. Energy Department's National Science Bowl championship

A team of four students answered graduate-level questions to win the contest. Sacramento's Mira Loma High finished second, and three other California schools placed in the top 16 of 67 teams. Santa Monica High School students won the U.S. Department of Energy's National Science Bowl on Monday, beating 66 other schools that included nine from California. The team provided the correct answer to an advanced calculus question to clinch the title.
