Relatively close Earth-like planet discovered

A planet is found orbiting Alpha Centauri B, which is 4.37 light-years from Earth. It is too close to its star to be habitable, but it suggests there may be others like it in the neighborhood. Scientists have spent years hunting for Earth-like planets orbiting stars elsewhere in the galaxy. Now they have found one that's a relative stone's-throw away.
