Government Shutdown Could Threaten NASA's Next Mars Probe Launch

The shutdown has frozen launch preparations for NASA's Maven Mars probe, which is slated to blast off Nov. 18. Maven has until Dec. 7 to get off the ground, after which point it would have to wait 26 months for another launch window to open.
