Arctic sea ice melting at record rates this year

Arctic sea ice is melting at an unprecedented rate of 100,000 square kilometres a day and will shrink to record low levels this week, scientists at the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colo., warned. CBC talks to the centre's Ted Scambos about the implications of this year's early and extensive ice melt.
