U.S. says Japan asked for equipment to cool reactors

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Japan has asked the United States for additional equipment to help provide water and other resources to keep quake-damaged nuclear reactors cool, the head of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said on Monday.
